Just like you, your physiology is truly unique. Using pre-set training zones based on FTP or Heart Rate (Lactate Threshold or Maximal) often leads to incorrect zone setting and wasted training time.

With the PNOE Gas Analyser, we can assess your VO2 Max, set your unique training zones and understand what your current limiters are to ensure training time is maximised.
​
Gas Analysis is the Gold Standard of VO2 assessment as changes are picked up incredibly quickly, faster than changes to lactate within the blood.
​
The Process
The assessment starts with a 5 minute warm up on your bike or the bike jig where you'll hold a target heart rate range to understand where the test should begin.
​
Following this, we'll get you to push hard for a short period to understand where you're likely max out during the test.
​
Then it's our turn to crunch some numbers, calibrate the equipment and get you acquainted with the PNOE mask.
​
Once we're happy with the setup and it's as comfortable as it can be, the Ramp Test will will begin.
​
You'll start with 3 minutes of steady riding to get your aerobic processes going, after this time, the Ramping begins.
​
Every minute the wattage, managed by the Wahoo Kickr Bike or Wahoo Kickr, will increase and all you need to do is push on the pedals. No gears to worry about!
​
We'll continue ramping up the intensity until you can't go any more, then you'll rest for 2.5 minutes keeping the mask on. This monitors your recovery processes and give us insight into some powerful metrics including Cardiovascular Fitness, Recovery Capacity, Fat Burning Efficiency and more.
​
Test and recovery complete, it's time to remove the mask and leave the detailed analysis to us.
​
A document containing all your findings will be sent across and then we'll schedule a catch up to discuss the data.
​
Data in your hands, now it's time to get stuck into your training using your unique training zones making the most of your training time.
