Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to bring with me?
Your bike, that's if you're bringing one to be optimised. If you're not bringing a bike then your cycling shorts, cycling jersey and cycling shoes along with some trainers will let us carry out the fit to the best possible standard. You can ride to the studio or change when you get here as there are toilets and showers on site
What type of bikes do you fit?
We can provide a fit for all bikes including road bikes, triathlon / TT bikes, mountain bikes and hybrids too. If you have further requirements, please contact to discuss.
Do I need to bring my own bike?
We can measure and optimise your existing bike or work from a clean slate, simply getting you into the best possible riding position and then provide measurements and information to setup your bike or purchase a new one.
How long will the fit process take?
The bike fit will last around 2h 30-45 mins depending on the number of interventions we need to make. The time at the end will then let us put as many of the measurements onto your bike as possible and provide recommendations on any changes required to the front end of the bike.
How intense is the standard bike fit session?
If we’re undertaking the bike fit session on 1 or 2 bikes, for the majority of the fit session, you’ll just be cruising along around 5-6/10 RPE / effort wise, so nice and easy. At times we’ll need you to put out some effort to ensure the position works at varying intensities but not for too long.
How intense is the VO2 bike fit session?
If you’re undertaking the VO2 Max performance testing session, you’re going to have to go hard! If you frequently get hungry, thirsty or have a small snack before completing an interval session, it would be worth bringing a drinks bottle and some food/snacks with you to ensure you can push as hard as you need to during the test. It’s around 12 minutes but you’ll need to leave it all on the bike during the test. Tough but worth it!

Please note, prior to this session, you’ll need to sign a PARQ form to confirm you are fit, healthy and it’s safe for you to push to the Max. If there could be medical reason you’re not able to do this, please contact us prior to the fit session.
Do you fit new parts as part of the session?
We can adjust the seatpost and saddle position on the bike but beyond this, we ask you to book in with our friends at Cycle Exchange so they can undertake the work in their fully qualified bike workshop. The complexity of internal cable routing, integrated bar/stem combinations and the sheer number of handlebars and stems available out there means it’s kind of like Pandora’s box with regards to options. PLEASE NOTE, we will endeavour to recommend the appropriate handlebar and stem options that will let you achieve the position we did during the fit!
What happens if I'm not comfortable one I've left?
We're happy to say this very rarely happens but in the event you experience any discomfort/pain resulting from the fit, we’ll get you back into the studio completely FOC to get the setup right. Post session, you are also free to stay in touch and ask any questions you may have, we’d actually prefer to know how you’re getting on and for you to stay in touch!
What data will I receive after the fit?
You’ll receive all the data taken and used during the fit along with any component and recommendations of work we’d advise you to undertake after the session to improve comfort or performance.
For any VO2 max test data, you’ll receive a custom report detailing the key statistics and advice on factors to work on that may be limiting your performance. We’ll also provide details of the coaching options we have a Cycling Performance.
All this info will be accessible within 72h after the test and bike fit, usually sooner.
What other services do you provide?
We're glad you asked!
We offer 1-1 Strength Training, Monthly Online Cycling and Triathlon coaching as well as RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) testing to find out how many calories you burn at rest.
